In an alternate future, anthropomorphic creatures known as "furs" have inherited the land. We follow one such fur named Gregor as he struggles financially to keep his family from squalor. When the deal of a lifetime lands in his lap, he reluctantly takes on the mantle of an INSL (International Neo Sumo League) competitor under the guidance of a dishonored trainer.

Here we have chapter 2. Something of a "fun fact:" I had the outline of this story written during the middle of summer time, but felt I could not really put on paper how it might feel for a total newbie to jump into a sumo life style. For art and curiosity's sake, I decided I would put my body on the line. Due to time and budget constraints, I felt my results were not as accurate as I would have liked, but there were in fact results. It was almost 13 pounds in a month! I started a second month, just to see what else I might expect, but I stopped at my family's urging. Which was probably for the best. The main reason I would not recommend trying it out (unless you're crazy like me), is because it really does mess with your metabolism. In the 3 months since I actually quit, I have not only been unable to drop the weight, I have not been able to stop gaining weight.
So with a bit of imagination combined with my findings, I tried to figure out what might happen under "perfect storm" conditions, and thus you get Gregor's experiences this chapter. Hope you enjoy.

NOTE TO ALL WHO SEE THE HIDDEN COMMENT
It's basically this comment right here, but I accidentally put it in the wrong place, so yeah, I'm an idiot sometimes.
Anywho, to Wanderwolf. I'd be happy to share the regimen! I'll try to keep the babble to a minimum, hopefully it's not too long.
Wake up really early, skip breakfast. Eat a calorie heavy lunch (actual sumo take in roughly 10,000 calories, but I managed 3,000). Take a short nap after that. I managed to work in a 40 minute one. Eat dinner late if you can, and eat a lot of it as well. I wasn't too picky about the calorie count but it was at least 1,000.
Basically don't eat for long periods of time, gorge when you can, sleep right after. Watch your weight climb.
I tried my best to keep with sumo style gaining. The food I ate was mostly complex carbs (cabbage, whole wheat bread, noodles, etc.) and lean protein (pretty much chicken). Not to mention I tried the long and arduous workout routine, so some of the gain was more than likely muscle.
However I assume you want to go for classic gaining (nothing wrong with that mind you), so a few adjustments to the sumo lifestyle would probably maximize results in that department. Try more simple carbs than complex ones (like white bread, anything with corn syrup or refined sugar) and eat fatty meats like beef instead of lean. Junk foods probably wouldn't hurt either. Also, I don't drink alcohol, but the occasional drink during a gorge would help boost calories if you aren't against the idea. Exercise should be kept to a minimum, but don't forgo it. Immobility sounds good in fantasy, but I imagine it's too far in real life.
And that's all I can really think of, good luck!
