I love hair IRL, and manes are no exception. I could amused with them for, i'unno, minutes before I had to accept rational thought again.
Did this one for a very very good friend of mine, Zeiros. It sucks being so far from him. But hey, he's getting the original pencil-colored sketch (which got eaten by the scanner, as per the usual).

Hmm, though, I'm not the best to explain how to do something but I'd say use other art (or an artist you like) as reference for certain things
Good exapmple, I use Zen's art as ref for my bodies and Blotch's ref for hands, paws, and heads ^^

I actually had to buy a book on drawing manga to learn how to draw decent eyes.
If you're not going for the manga-ish look, then all I can really suggest is that if the eyes are a different distance away from the viewer (such as if the head is turned partially to the side), and nothing is covering it, just make everything on it slightly shorter horizontally.
