You guys agree on everything way too much!!! Come on, let's see some more choices!!!
You decide to allow Lori a chance to prove herself. After all, she did want to do this on her own, she just wanted you to stay on hand in case Shane decided to play dishonestly.
The two crack their heads against one another and hop apart. The male Nidoran grits his teeth and jabs at his little sister with his sharp horn, a weapon which she lacks. Luckily, she seems more than aware of what her brother is capable of and jumps nimbly to the side. As the two continue to fight, you feel a certain amount of respect growing for Lori. Despite being repressed and told she was weaker thanks to her gender, she seems quite capable and determined. When she dashes forward and bites down on her brother’s hind leg, you have to fight the urge to cheer.
After a few minutes, you hear a rustle from the bushes nearby. The two Poison Pokemon seem too occupied with their battle to notice it, and you chalk it up as another wild Pokemon come to observe the battle. You tense a bit though, worried that they may try to snatch up Lori or her brother, neither option all that satisfying in the long run. Slowly, you start to make your way towards the rustling bush, staying as hidden as possible while keeping an eye on your friend. Finally, you manage to catch a glimpse of a scarred Cubone watching the fight from a bush in a similar manner to how you were. You consider speaking to him and finding out what his intentions are, but something tells you to stay hidden.
You go back to observing the battle and start to see what Lori was talking about. The two Nidoran are attacking one another furiously with fangs, claws, and horn, but Shane doesn’t seem to be above splashing dirt at his sister or kicking a rock in her direction. He looks to be growing frustrated and annoyed at the lack of desired results, although both Nidorans are starting to pant.
There’s another rustle from the bush where the Cubone is hiding. Lori doesn’t seem to know it, but Shane steals a glimpse in that direction and smirks. A quick glance at the Cubone and you notice that he’s shifted his bone club to one hand and is patting it against his paw, looking every bit a common thug. Shane gives him a quick nod and the Cubone nods back before starting to move forward.
Were Lori here alone, you have a feeling this is about to become a two on one that she would have no hope of winning. However, knowing her brother, she’d prepared for this and brought the meanest Trapinch known to Pokemon kind with her! You’re torn with indecision, knowing time is short. The safest bet would be to call out to Lori and make her aware, although that would give away your location. You could also yell at the Cubone, but there’s no guarantee he’ll pay you any mind. There’s also a chance that you could deal with him yourself. If you were to ambush him, you may deal with Shane’s goon before he gets a chance to interfere in the battle. If all else fails, you can always make this a good old fashioned double battle and get your claws dirty!

Assist Lori in battle!
I think the problem is that things seem a bit too linear in some posts. The outcome seems too obvious like there is really only one logical answer. Like with the way you set up Lori, everyone just wants to go along with her story so they want to pick the option that goes in that direction. Maybe after your done with this Lori sub-plot things might go back to normal.
Then again, you don't have to listen to me. I was just giving my thoughts and I'm not trying to tell you how to run your story at all, please don't think of me that way.
