*cough* Yes. Anyways, I figured since everyone else was doing one, I might as well make one, too. Although to be honest I wasn't a fan of this particular base... I wanted to display more than one piece per month, but eh, I scoured high and low and this was the best I could find (aside from making one myself but I suck at design so yay).
Anyways, I think I've done some pretty good progress over the year. Lemme talk about each month briefly here.
January: This was about the time I started actually making art to upload to FurAffinity. In 2012, my main art site was Deviantart, so when I joined FA in 2012, it was mainly to upload work I'd already done. I was experimenting a lot and I focused on headshots and the few and scattered commissions I got through the FA Forums.
February: Still getting commissions mostly through the forums, but I'm widening my scope of what I'm drawing and drawing more for myself than I am for commissions. I'll learn to stop that sooner or later.
March: I hardly got any art done this month, and the few art that I did was all personal. I wasn't active on FA much at this time, but I still had fun experimenting beyond flat-colors.
April: MORE PERSONAL ART. :U The buck stops here, though.
May: Here I got a nice wave of commissions on FurAffinity and started to think that maybe it was something I could do more regularly. I had some great commissioners and had fun doing more than I previously thought I could do, including anthros, which I'm beginning to feel comfortable drawing.
June/July/August: Classes happened. Last semester of college = very few free time. Commissions are non-existent and the few arts I do are personal art.
September: Half way through my semester, and now that I've got a grip on some free time, I go full-blown on FurAffinity and start drawing like crazy. I open commissions on journals and get way more response than I ever thought I would, and so I start drawing like mad. Each piece makes me better.
October: With the new response, I start to experiment on more, different kinds of art commissioned pieces, including badges (as seen), and I try lots of new art styles, techniques, etc. I even get a commission price guide up and running and get some positive feedback on the quality and pricing. (Yay!)
November: Nearing the end of my semester, but I still manage to get a lot of art done, and a lot of commissions- mostly, reference sheets, which seem to be very popular. Each reference sheet makes me more and more comfortable with drawing anthros, something I now can confidently do.
December: Art has slightly slow down, with graduation, Christmas, New Year's, moving back home and looking for a career job, etc all happen at one time. But I still make time for some commissions, and a few personal/fan art too.
So now, I suppose, it's on to 2014! Here's hoping that, with each piece of art I draw, I will continue to improve, get better, learn new things, and be open to all sorts of changes and possibilities. You guys help me out so much with giving me an income, a job, while I'm working through a difficult patch of my life. Thanks so much again...
Ya'll are awesome. <3
