Part 1 of 5 in a sequence commission for
madagascar
Involving a Khajit thief from the Elder Scrolls series.
Now I don't know ANYTHING about the series but to my understanding in the game's mechanics in order to learn more alchemic recipes you have to devour each ingredient to do so. If that isn't actually the case than feel free to correct me.
madagascar thought that this mechanic would be a good basis for a sequence and now here we are.
Our nameless Khajit thief reads from a tome in a village library and learns of the skill of alchemy. Which is the art of creating precious metals and other valuables out of basic materials. Thinking that learning this ancient skill will help her get out of the lowly life of a petty thief, Our heroine begins her journey in alchemy. To help further her learning she opts to eat as many alchemic ingredients she can get her paws on and as fast as she can.
Alchemy is a skill that takes time and years to master but this young Khajit's pursuit to conjure gold may teach her a good lesson about being greedy and the true power of alchemy in the hands of an unprepared and less than skillful user.

Perhaps humans really are the monsters?

Possibly. Or maybe the diet of humans in Elder Scrolls is very unhealthy. Then again, if you play as a human race (excluding any races related to the Dwelmer, Argonian and Khajit), it is cannibalism. Now cannibalism is apparently more bad than just in moral-code, supposedly eating another human is worse than having an all-you-can-eat at a McDonalds. However, that statement might just have been made up to deter others from committing cannibalism. Now I am not saying go ahead and eat people, I'm just trying to make sense about why eating a human heart in a virtual world is considered a bad thing.
That sounds rather familiar, but I cannot recall the story. I have seen some stories where apparently eating a dragon's heart (or using it for heart surgery, example: Dragon Heart) and drinking the blood is apparently good for you. But, some dragons in different stories are of course, different. In one story, a man had to kill a dragon by being underneath it and stabbing it with it's sword. Turns out the blood of the dragon was highly acidic.
I remember a similar discussion I had with friends a while back about that. I would believe that eating a human brain is very unhealthy for more than one reason. The only times brains seem to be a good thing are for zombies from Return of the Night of the Living Dead, where brains were a painkiller for rigger mortis. However to living persons, might as well kill you fast enough to become zombie.
In the Elder Scrolls series, eating things is pretty much the most basic and simple form of potion making. After all, alchemy is essentially just grinding up stuff, mixing it with water, and swallowing the results. So if you eat stuff like flowers, bugs, and other things, you're able to learn basic properties about it and you gain some alchemical skill.
