As per tradition, every year I fill a blank with a major art project from each month to see how far I've progressed...it also lets me reflect on how I learn too.

The first 4 months of this year were pretty empty, it was surprising how little material there was, I had to include a pendant design, a silly TMNT pic and an ACEO to fill it out! After Arasia in January was a let down, I was in a recharge phase and focused learning a different art-form to refill my inspiration bucket. It definitely worked, after May was just an explosion of paintings, one after another while I got used to my new studio space. It's too bad it would have been cheating to move some of them to earlier months! Also in May I began to take up plein air paintings, and managed to crank out one or two a week well into the summer which helped my composition and lighting significantly. I think I showed more progress this year than in the past.
