Popularized by Hedwig in the Harry Potter series in recent years, this big fluff ball is a resident of the northern circumpolar region (not just arctic as some would have people believe). Despite this, they’ve been seen as far from home as New England. At a young age, they have much more black in their feathers which eventually gives way to a plumage of almost entirely white.
