Okay, it's not the cartoon character, but a real Peregrine Falcon I saw in my back yard today!

I know it's after the smaller song birds, but WOW! Talk about luck.

I was sitting in my family room trying to place pencil figures onto a canvas I need to finish up, and I just happened to look out the glass door to the patio; there it was!

I'm surprised I got 4 photos, but this was the best of those four.

Yes it would, in fact, once I get my fursuit, I'm going to have my pic taken in front of the Kodak building.

I'm actually going to have my pic taken in front of a few places here in Rochester, like Xerox, Baush & Lomb, some of the museums and stuff like that.

That's a lovely bird, but I don't believe that is a peregrine falcon. It looks to be a Cooper's Hawk. Still, very nice picture!

You could be right on that; I'll have to check to see if it is a Cooper's Hawk (my bird books at home are piss-poor).

I'm pretty sure it's a Cooper's, though is could be a Sharp-Shinned Hawk. Both species look very similar, though from the scale in the picture I'd wager Cooper's. It's the red eyes that give them away. 83
