Well, to be honest, I just stole an icon (MWAAAHAAAHAAHAA) and traced the basic pose then added in my charries features! I'm not sure what you have for an art program, but it's easiest if it has a layering capability. I think Open Canvas has layers, but I can't remember. I use Photoshop, although I know not everyone can get it.
This image is 250x250, so it's bigger than the icon size, which always makes it easier to work on and then shrink down to the proper 100x100. I'm not sure from who the meme originated, so I don't think there's a 'blank' anywhere.
