If you can't have something that'll get this big, get an ameiva. They're a dwarf tegu. Doen't get much bigger than a foot.

Foot or two...? In any case, it's much smaller and not so bulky. Cool guys too, diggers. They have HUGE front claws, like a mole XD
And no problem. ^^
