He's a Canadian Tundra wolf. The kennel was to separate him from his packmates due to aggression. He was on his way to literally killing his own pack members, so we had to separate him. No, we are a shelter for wolves that people don't know what to do with. Wolves that would otherwise be shot by the police, or put down by other means.
floppy wolf lips... Wolves being social creatures they need the contact and interactions of others to keep from going crazy. So any interaction for him is good interaction and the body he is with just happens to be a hooman, he trusts that's one of the reasons he was so relaxed with you most of the time.
Great photo by the way, it's not often they will get that comfortable with a new person. Baker who was a bata would come over and snuggle with me if I was on the ground leaning into the fence. He liked to tuck his head under my chin or under my arm, many times falling asleep that way.
