I love the symmetry of this image; very balance and effective warrior stance. I also love the blend of shadows and light cast on the face and armor. It's got that good vs. evil vibe to this piece depending on which side you are looking at. I think the detail is great; from the shine of the armor to the mountains and overgrowth in the background. I also dig the blood stains in the background.
I've haven't had a lot of time to upload artwork last year. I trust everyone has had a good 2013. Let's hope 2014 is even better. :)

Thanks for the response. I honestly can't give you an answer to that because I never taken kendo before. :(
Part of the reason my character is always in samurai apparel is because I do have samurai blood on my father's side of the family. Unfortunately we were on the losing side of a battle.
Sorry that wasn't very helpful.

My friend and I have read some books on Eurpean swordfighting for our swordfighting group and there is a European Broadsword stace called "shot stance" and it looks like that. Hey that's cool that you got samurai blood in you! And I am intrested in Samurai and their code of Bushido. I just thought I'd see if you knew if there was a name. For now in my swordfighting group we just call it "the Japanese Short Stance." And thank you for your reply back!
