I just sample songs I like. This is from Matty Groves by Fairport Convention.

So basically what you do is take the song cut it up and put it back together how you want to?

Yep! Usually I'm just sampling very small portion(s) of the song. but there's more, you gotta add stuff too.
sometimes I add bass lines, I always add beats (sometimes from other songs and sometimes I make them myself). I always EQ it, and jack up the compression (that's the effect that decreases the treble as bass comes in, makes it real punchy and raw sounding)

Yeah, Compression makes the sample go away! I love that shit!

i use Goldwave to clip the songs up into the samples i want
then i use Reason 4 to arrange and compose and sequence it
it's kind of painstaking but pretty fun too once it all clicks together :3

Sounds way too complicated for me : P I don't know shit about how to make music, but I know that I like this haha

That's why I feel so tied up on software, The MPC is so free, but both have similar capabilities
