It's so funny that this comes up now, because I was just clearing some old stuff in my inbox and I kept finding a lot from you. As I went on, I kept noticing the little improvements: anatomy improvements, better shading/coloring, better and better backgrounds. You definitely have come a long way, that much is certain <3

I know I'll never be as good as you, but I hope to make the same kind of personal achievements with my artwork i'm starting up again. You never know :3

I do sometimes, yes. As for painting, there are some books and tutorials but really, you just need to go browse. XD

Heres to another 10 years!

A nice steady progression until 2009 then a HUGE leap in 2010. Do you remember anything specific that lead to that? Its amazing. Ally those years of hard work and never giving up certainly has paid off. Do you have any other super early art that you can share?

In 2010 I started college, first off, and I joined FA. Seeing so many artists that I admired made me push past 'this is a hobby' into something more. c:

Your really really good, never give up on your artistic gift. The best I could draw and still can is stick figures... lol my art is in music and poetry

I need to learn to do backgrounds. Along with continuing to practice anatomy, that's going to have to be something I work on this year.

Well i'm still at year one. Not even a full year really. Hope i go far and I will keep trying with my art. Hope in ten years, my art is somewhere at your quality of skill. I still got a long way to go

I was literally just saying to my boyfriend "I don't think my art is...bad but it looks lifeless compared to the other artists? what is it that makes it like that" After looking at my gallery I thought "its bland, theres no set up, theres no background, theres no atmosphere, theme or scene...I need to start doing backgrounds"

Then I come to this and see you've written "finally learnt backgrounds are important", this really helps me think that this probably what my art is missing. The improvement between 2011 is my favorite, you go from an above average artist to a pro very quickly.
