Colored pencil 11"x17"
An illustration I did while interning at the Omaha Zoo. It was created for a sign to go near the wolf exhibit at the Wildlife Safari Park. Scent is extremely important to wolves so they mark their kills, trails through their territory and especially frequently around the borders of their territory. This helps prevent unwanted encounters between wolf packs. The dominant pair, both male and female, lift their leg to urinate.
