A Star Wars character of mine that I've been working on for a while.
His name is Tiath and he's from one of the lesser known and mysterious races of the Star Wars EU: the Talortai. The Talortai are humanoid aliens with both reptilian and avian characteristics. They're also unique in that they are immune to aging and have great regenerative capabilities. Tiath himself is 3864 years old at the time the Clone Wars begin.
In his long life, he's done quite a number of things and lived varied lives. He's been a mercenary, a pirate warlord, a simple civilian, and a spacer. When one lifestyle grows boring, he merely moves to a new one. He's watched his own mercenary bands and pirate outfits grow to power and then fade to nothing, along with millennia worth of empires across the galaxy. Friendship also comes hard for him, being that he's essentially immortal. He's made friends on planets and left, only to return to find them aged considerably or centuries dead because time has no meaning to him. That's happened enough that he mostly keeps to himself. He's also neutral in most conflicts. Despite being acutely Force-sensitive, his species is neither Jedi nor Sith. Tiath himself has learned to harness the Force to a degree for combat.
If any of you out there recognize the species, it's probably because you played Empire at War: Forces of Corruption and saw the awesome Urai Fen.

Given his background is so varied with all kinds of different lifestyles, it reminds me of this short story I read in Senior year... I probably mentioned it before, where it touched on the hypothetical that, if human beings were immortal, they would fall into two categories of people: the Learners, who believe they must take advantage of all this time they have and learn and do everything there is to be done, and the Loungers, people who take their time with everything, never really excelling in all things so much as just going with the flow (that's not what they were actually called, but I can't recall their original names).
