Which reminds me... isn't it lovely how simple events can trigger such awe-inspiring creations in the minds of some?

Some things that I've written are sometimes in reaction to things that happen to me almost everyday. Then, after playing with the idea a bit, it ends up as a poem or a story from me.

Personally, I love it when I get these little bursts of inspiration.

Actually, I wrote this in part because Kat told me that we don't really need to risk lives and go, since machines will be able to do it for us, but where the hell's the romance and drama in that?

Wow, you must have some very deep conversation at your house. While I think Kat has a point on the use of machines and robotics, I suspect they will always be a first step to eventual human space exploration. I like what Elon Musk has said about colonization of Mars as a stepping stone into space; We need to set up a colony on Mars to ensure the survival of the human race in case of a cataclysmic event on Earth. I think we need to get onto other planets to make sure as a species we can ensure our survival. Too much is happening on the Earth, being a child of the 70's and 80's, I can never forget that we live in a nuclear shadow.

I think we need to be self-centered when it comes to our species survival. The universe doesn't care about whether we're here or not, or what shape we leave the world in. Entropy wins, sooner or later. I think that we need to focus on reducing the amount our fellow humans suffer. We need to make the best of the brief moments in the great, long life span of the universe that our species has been given. No matter how bad or good we treat the planet, when we're gone, it will still be here. Something will replace us..or nothing will, It doesn't matter. Nothing matters, and that means we should all matter a great deal to each other. We're all we've got. Taking care of the planet means that we don't end up with environmental disasters that cause more suffering. Ending wars and learning to love each other helps reduce suffering. Taking care of each other, even if it means we have to make sacrifices, ends up rewarding all of us in the end. We have so much potential, we can be so much more than we are, and I believe that it all starts within. If we love ourselves more, and take chances on ourselves by taking chances on others-whether we agree with them or even like them or not-we grow as people, and that builds up and arcs from within us to the people we touch, and jumps to the people they touch, and so on. Cliche as it sounds, we need to be excellent to each other..because this universe can be a pretty awesome place to party on in. We just need more love.

Wotan. You are an amazing person, and I want to be better friends with you, I really, really do..cus man..the stuff you write, it's made me see things, feel things that have changed my life. You have had such a HUGE impact on my personal growth this year.

I don't have money. If I did, I'd be taking you and a few select other people on a magic fucking carpet ride away from all the shit that gums up the works, y'know? I just..I know I need to let life work things out or not, I guess that's one thing I've started to learn because of you..
