male Therion skull. note pronounced horn plate behind ocular orbit and heavy sagittal crest. Therion are similar to prehistoric mesonychids -- hooved predatory mammals.
reference from good ol' google image search: domestic dog, hyaena, sinonyx skulls.
felt like challenging myself today. :D

I love skeletal drawings! The detail is nice and the shading makes me happy
Two anatomical things though; one, real predatory mammals have their upper canines fall behind their bottoms canines. Yours is the other way. Is this an intended difference or not? I'm not familiar with your species, so I don't know if this is a design element of your creature or not. And two, the lower jaw seems like it would be a weak point, given to frequent breakage, considering how thin it is. Once again, is this an intentional design element, or not?

yep, the frontmost upper pair is more like a walrus' tusks than anything. the true-eyetooth is much smaller and pushed back behind the lower eyetooth where it should be, in front of the two hook-like carnassials.
the thin part of the lower jaw should be an inward curve, not an upward one... so that the jaw has a sort of hourglass shape when viewed from below or above. i sort of fucked up the contours and shading though.
