This is a rough sketch of part of the base mechanism for my animatronic ears.

I got distracted during finals and started thinking about packaging. I have to pass three brake cable lines through the ear successively, meaning that at one point, two lines have to be able to turn 180 degrees, which is hard to do. Unfortunately, this is right where it needs to be the slimmest; where the ear meets the head. So I came up with this neato spiral type packaging. I have been doing the math behind it, but the idea is that the cables unfurl similar to what happens when you twist a roll of paper tighter.
