This is my entry into the 
furrymusicians contest. I am very, very reluctant to enter competitions but thought it would be a bit of fun and the challenge of writing a "song" that is less than 45 seconds was interesting. I didn't want to just have a riff playing over and over or me just going nuts over some chords so I thought I would try and structure it like a mini song.
Done on a 7 String in Drop A, as per the norm with me :D

I understand why the rules required such a short song (though I'm getting a little worried as everyone but me seems to have had a response by FM on their posts, hope I don't get left out) as it means listening to them will be a little easier for the judges. It was fun to write within the time-limit set, though I doubt I will ever bother extending this. Haha I'm too lazy :P
Although I don't like contests as I don't feel music should be a competition, I am discovering some really good musicians, such as yourself, and their work through this contest, so that's most certainly a plus!

Understandable, I don't think musicians tend to get much notice on here which is a bit of a shame. The contest is to help showcase some of the talent on here that doesn't get much recognition. In that it's a good thing and certainly seems to be very friendly and sporting at the moment which is excellent to see!
Yeah. Sometimes making things transition into each other can be tough, especially if you're boxed into only 45 seconds.
That does give me an idea though. I could write a bunch of sections, take the ones I like the best, give them good transitions, etc. and make a long song. Maybe somewhere between the 10-20 minute mark. Could be cool.

Hehe thank you :) My take on the original criteria was a song that reflected yourself and although I really like metal but I enjoy a lot of other forms of music and wanted it to come across in this as much as possible. I think it ended up a bit more "metal" than I originally intended but hey ho, I love metal XD
Thanks! I use EZDrummer (I have superior but it won't work on my laptop for whatever reason, it's not the, ahem, "legitimate" version shall we say so it's not really surprising).
I layer the drums, four layers actually. I use three Toontrack kits and the stock Cubase kit in all. I have one that has all the drums playing, which is the one I programme the cymbals, snare, toms, kick etc into. Then I have one that plays just the snare, then another two that play kicks, one of which has a triggered drum sound on it which gives the click and another has a really deep drum sound which gives it the punch.

No I don't actually have a YouTube channel sadly, well certainly not one with anything on it at any rate.
I have a few bits and bobs on here, covers and a couple of rough things but I used to have a fair bit of my original songs on here. I ended up taking them down because I found people on here were posting music they'd claim to have written which they'd pinched from other people (one of them was actually selling someone else's songs on bandcamp passing it off as songs they'd written and recorded), I called them out and I believe they've stopped but still made me uncomfortable having stuff I'd written so anonymously available.
So yeah took all my stuff off as a result.

That's annoying :( I know that Youtube will be able to provide better protection against that, if you post something on Youtube and someone posts a video either exactly or extremely similar to yours, they will have copyright strikes and won't be able to make money off of it. Eventually their account will get banned for good if they have enough strikes.

I ought to really, I had one ages ago that I put my Blue cover on, but that got taken down so I just couldn't be bothered to use YouTube after that. I am working on band stuff again now so my ideas are generally going straight to that and I'm keeping that offline until the band gets going. May transfer some of my other bits and bobs to YouTube maybe, but I am remarkably lazy with things like that haha so I don't imagine it will be anytime soon ;) thanks for the support though, awfully kind of you and I'm pleased you like my stuff
