"In almost every list, pride (Latin, superbia), or hubris (Greek), is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and the source of the others. It is identified as believing that one is essentially better than others, failing to acknowledge the accomplishments of others, and excessive admiration of the personal self (especially holding self out of proper position toward God)." -- Pride
For Ele, it wasn't so much what he was doing that he was proud of or the fact that the union of elven and draconic magic was something wholly his creation. No, what Ele was proudest of was the protection he would be able to provide those he loved.
No one could do better than him at this task, and he made sure every spell and incantation that went into the protective collar were of the utmost quality. He would be able to provide no less, after all...

on that note this is very well put together. i am sure she will love it when she gets her net back.

That's what's fun about pride! In small amounts, it's good and healthy and, honestly expected in certain settings. But when pride blinds you from what's really important (in this case, what the person being "protected" might think of said protection.) is when it becomes a sin and starts to hurt those around you.
Always a fun one to try and capture in a picture!
