The species name is something I cobbled together out of garbled forms of 'centaur' and 'dragon'. I envision them as having evolved from something like the traditional Western Dragon, with the wings converted into forelegs. The single large claw folds under for normal locomotion: a sort of 'knuckle-walking' position,with a hoof-like spur,; but can be extended for prehensile purposes. The 'eye' motif on the vest serves as protection from predators, as well as having a religious significance.
