Thank you.
I really like the feel of this piece. It reminds me of Jim Croce's song "I got a Name".
The only thing I would have done differently is the last line of the third stanza.
I probably would have written that line as: 'that now it's part of my flow',
simply because it fits better with the meter. Other than that, I think your piece is very well-realised.

I moved 5 times before I went to college. And I'm not even a military brat. But this poem 'splains exactly how I feel. However, that said, after college I've pretty much stopped moving. Technically lived in two different abodes since '95, but they're just a few miles apart. I almost moved out to California to chase a dream, but after a couple of years of trying, I resigned myself, bought a house, and 1 month later a job offer came in from Industrial Light & Magic. Had to turn it down, as I had a giant 401(k) loan to help pay the downpayment on the house, and that was my anchor with my employer -- terminating my employment would cause the loan to come due in 90 days.
Ahem, so anyhow, those last two lines really tie it all together. Nice one.
(also, first line of 4th stanza has an apostrophe where one oughtn't be; though it works in a way as it is, I think it's unintentional)

We had a house in Coventry, RI from 2003 to 2011. We finally moved because the landlord (my aunt, who put the downpayment down on our house) was driving us nuts, not really letting us do the one thing that we had really wanted to do (our dream is to breed and show Ibizan hounds, she hates dogs, and didn't like the fact that we owned them and were looking to own more, however temporarily). So, we moved to our partner Kat's place in Bertram, Texas. We've been here since 2011.
So, while I have this place and the people I'm with as a bit of an anchor...my spirit wanders. Whether it's a story i'm writing, a bit of roleplay i'm taking part in, or through my art and the art people do of my character, I'm always moving down that road, never resting, never gathering too much moss and always with a song in my heart.
I blame all those 'The Road to' movies with Bob Hope and Bing Crosby I watched when I was a kid.
