That game had some great themes, but Spark Man's isn't just entertaining, it makes you "feel" the stage, so to speak. It sets the tone perfectly for the atmosphere and look of it.
As for why the stage is hard, I think it's because it's trying to give you a seizure while you're playing it. XP
