Off a rural road next to a cow pasture was where my car fell in a snow drift. Ice, pothole, big rock, edge of pavement, I don't know what made the car slide, but it went and half submerged itself into a fluffy snow bank. I probably could have dug it out with a notebook and a Styrofoam cup, but I figured having my friend help was a more realistic option. I got a lift to my house (thank you again, dude with the red truck!! :3 ) and took my sports car to work while my friend went to carefully extract my car. When my friend arrived with proper equipment he was greeted by some greedy douche-bag hillbilly, who yanked my car by the suspension like a seized pull start on a lawnmower then said,"Ya thats thiddy bucks guy." and held out his hand. My friend paid him to unhook the car, then ripped him a new ass until he got pissy and gave the money back to my friend. We didn't ask him to get the car, nor did anybody call me as my number was displayed in big numbers on every note clearly stating,"Don't tow!! Tow truck in en route!!". He was just a scumbag looking to screw somebody. The scuzz bucket actually said,"Tha keys aint in tha cah! Thats abandin' propidy pal!" My friend without searching, pulled the keys from plain sight within the car,"Wow look at these!" face red with rage,"IT'S THE KEYS!!". Thats all I heard about until the phone call I recieved later. That slackjaw inbreed thrashed the suspension so hard that he totaled my car. Just look at the photo. We are thinking about suing him for damages.

I want to, and the more I think about it the more I want to sue! It would be like if I walked up to your computer and washed it with a garden hose because I thought it looked dirty. Your computer isn't mine, and you didn't ask me to... but now its ruined. So fork over $30 for my troubles. The only thing possibly working against me is this ridiculous Maine thing about abandoned vehicles. It's to protect hit and run victims... somehow... I think... but my car had no heat and the ambient air was -1 degrees at best. So I have that counterpoint to his one hair brained excuse. It just sucks, all that tuning and tweaking to make that car what it is, er was, and now its all gone because of some greedy dick head. The car is junk now, and I'm not sue happy (I've never sued before) but in this case I feel justified. That was a nice car, especially for a '97 Saturn!
Christ! Doesn't he know that that's destruction of property? Make him pay for the new sway bar and everything else that he bent up!
But totaled? I don't think so I bought a car that had control arm snap and brake the wheel off, 200 fixed it for 300 and sold it for 1800. So as long as your good with the puller you can fix that~! C:

The entire underside is warped and the passenger side sits noticeably higher then the driver's side. I'm astounded the plastic body panels didn't shatter! The car as it sits now is worth about $400 at best. So even if I put the work and money into the car, I'd still have to get an alignment and deal with having all the headache of it all. I just don't feel like dealing with the whole process, but the more I think about it the more I get riled up. He ruined my running driving car, and now I want this fixed! My friend at the scene told a police officer about the guy's expired plates and inspection, so hopefully they nail him for that. The whole thing just pisses me off and I don't want to deal with a lawsuit or fixing an old Saturn... again.
Take hart its never as bad as it seams, Things will probably get better!

That is true as the worst is already done. The car is wrecked but I'm physically okay. The worst thing that can happen now is if we can't find the scumbag and we have to fix the car out of our pockets, or if the judge favors the tow truck driver and awards us no money for repairs. It's just so frustrating knowing that this all could have been avoided if the guy minded his own business, actually knew what he was doing, or at the very least call the number on the notes instead of trashing my car. Just really sucks when this stuff happens huh?
I know right? If we can track him down we're taking him to court. I'm not looking to get rich, I just want him to fix or pay for the damages he so ignorantly caused... all because he wanted his $30. He is just another one of those scumbag tow truck drivers that gives the decent honest hard working tow truck drivers a horrible name. It's estimated at around $400-$500 in damages because he used the suspension instead of the tow hitch, that was in plain sight and easily accessible, then I assume he yanked it out in one shot like a dandelion from the grass. It is what it is, we just have to sue for repairs or fix and sell the car ourselves. The whole situation is so frustrating, but maybe it's time to move on and start on a mini-van build. I've never suped up a mini-van before... could be fun!
I would be so mad if that had happened to me, I hope you can peruse a legal avenue and get your car fixed. I did some reading on Maine abandoned car laws and found something that may help you if you track him down. http://www.mainelegislature.org/leg.....s/HP051501.pdf
It appears to me that he could not tow your car with out a police officer oking it first, and then it would only be abandoned if you did not claim it and pay for towing within thirty days. Hope that this can be of some help to you.

That should could come in handy, as I'm ready to go after this dick. There was an officer on scene, but I will be taking all of this into account in court... should it come to this. WTF?! My page just flashed static like a VCR tape on bad tracking. Fuck DAMNIT this site is starting to piss me off!! Thank you Vindex.45! I really appreciate your help :3
Me neither, but this scumbag sure did. I have his phone number, name, address, and so on so please don't pm me asking for it because I so wont tell *wink wink*. Fucking Ron... no thats harsh, I should just call him by his last name, douche bag Smith! Anyways I'm over it. I'm sure that douche bag Ronald S. will get his.
So did you ever sue the guy? I am surprised that a tow truck can touch a car. In the states that I know of there is only three ways a tow truck can hook up a car with out the driver being charged with grand theft auto. (1) the owner asked the car to be towed. (2) the car is illegally parked and the tow company has to be contacted by a person that has legal right to have the car towed. (3) a law enforcement officer contacted a tow company to tow the car. Tow trucks cant just randomly hook up to cars and move them.
After finding out who this scumbag was I contacted a lawyer and started to gather paperwork and evidence to sue the toothless sister F*cker. It turned out that it would have cost a lot more to put this scumbag in his place than I would be able to get back in return. So I called the state police and reported his expired registration and expired inspections sticker he had when he totalled my car. Yeah real nice huh? Oh well, F*uck him. He's raking up a big ass ball of nasty karma that sooner or later will blow up in his face. Oops I almost forgot!
