I've always had an appreciation for the beauty of old-school Japanese art. I think it's the simplicity of the designs and details that help contribute to the serene beauty of the art style. Gives it a very calming and peaceful feel.
So googling "etching" brings up a process involving metal plates, wax and acid and somehow I doubt this applies to your paper moleskin sketchbook.
What's the process here? Or is japanese etching something completely different?
