I is modeling my bunny!... and failing <.<
I fully realize now that cartoon characters such as these are not meant to be in the 3D realm, it just doesn't work XD It's impossible to actually get a 3/4ths view like in my drawing if i stick to the same model of the other two drawings lol..
Ah well though, gotta to what I can with this. I had to make slight adjustments to the model itself for small things like that ridge between the eyes (in the red on the bottom pic).
Obviously not finished, hopefully it'll look better with the eyes done and the ears/hair.

don't think you would have been able to do this though... My teacher says he started this himself and the school is just now gonna pick it up and probably use it for all the classes like this...
However a class for the figure modeling alone would be helpful any way, still learns ya some figure stuff XD

You're doing great so far, you got the rough shape down. To get it right you're gonna have to develop a 3D figure of the head in your mind to work from and then reference the drawings when that fails. Maybe round out the eyebrow ridges alot more. The placement of the cigarette in the front and side views differs though.
o.0 I honestly don't see any failure here, on the contrary !!!.....
Perhaps you should have a look at the official volume creations, especially the Tex Avery and Warner Bros related, you'll see indeed how the sculptors "arranged" the character to make it look good in 3D - but yes, you'll always have at least one point of view that will be weird or problematic, giving the actual nature of the model that's totally unrealistic and manipulated.

Over the years of going to animation galleries, I've met Kent Melton a number of times and spoke with him at length about his work; making the animation maquetes for most of the animation studios.
For very thin or delicate parts, such as hairs and such, he re-inforces the clay by building it around a strong wire armiture. Toons often have thin necks or no necks at all. Maybe for the stress points like that, you could insert stiff piano wires into your chars' neck etc.?

the neck is actually being supported by a 1 inch diameter galvanized steel pipe that's bolted to the wood and runs all the way up to the top of the head. It was actually starting to poke out of the top of the head slightly lol
But yeah I have to actually use some wire for one of the ears but... I just hope when I take the wire out the ear can support itself <.<... Can't have that wire in it when it goes into the kiln lol
