To encourage bidding and to prevent the seller from having their item sold for way less than its worth. If the start price is too high people aren't going to want to bid so if ya put it lower than what you think its worth people are more likely to bid. And even if the reserve isn't met the "winner" of the auction and the seller might still be able to work out a deal to sell the item to that person.
Hmmm. Hmmmm. I'll see how it goes. I know I'm getting a large payment this month for a fursuit. :) If I have 50%, then I'll bid. If not I won't try.

Is there room in the muzzle to fit a small fan? I've installed them many times with DVC bases and even the foam heads I sell. It's about an inch wide and almost 2 inches in length.
The current resin-based fursuit head I have was made by DVC, but I just never cared to install a fan in Tuckey, even if he does get hot for me! xD haha, lazy sergal.. v u v
Also, If I win this guy, ;3; I've crossed every finger I have, you mentioned letting you know if the winner has a smaller head than the hood? Will it be a problem to take it down to a size 22'' / 23''? Or will it be okay at the size it is now of 24.5''?

There is certainly room for a fan if you want to install one. As for the hood i am a 23" head and it fits me wonderfully, plus room to spare for my hair XD I personally wont take the hood in to a smaller size. I would just adjust the head strap :3

Oh wow the fashion district? I didn't even know that was thing! Gotta go there sometime. I did a quick search of the usual faux fur sites and couldn't find it, so I'm guessing it was pretty specialty. It turned in to one helluva awesome fur suit too! Thanks for letting me know it's origins!
