When the first balefire bombs hit Equestria, radio operators both commercial and private, went into full effort to supply information, request help and other civil defense activities. Within minutes of one cities fall, a signal in Horse Code was sent out from the relatively low population area of Farrier pass. Automated and set to repeat itself, anyone within 47 miles of Farrier Pass will discover the signal, set at 1240 kHz.

But thats what makes it engaging and awesome. Kind of sad how far we've fallen as a species that we garner entertainment by seeing a pure race fall from grace. MLP was pure, happy, it had its moments of chaos and war, but it was pretty tame compared to the shit we Humans do. FO;E and its universe is exactly Human with its ingenuity, sociology patterns and violence. Makes one think. But hell, I find the thought of a Post Apocalyptic world like a fantasy paradise. lol My kind of heaven.
I think that's why I hate it. Ultimately, it's stupid. There are times when one may look on a story and say "This is very non-pony." Rainbow Factory, Cheerilee's Garden, Cupcakes. They have the exact wrong feeling. They just feel dumb to anyone that knows about the world. It would be like a random musical number and slapstick during Saw or Aliens.
Putting "shit we humans do" in there is gratuitous. Plus... I'm not normally in the business of saying I disbelieve what people say but I'm skeptical of your claim. I doubt that after peering through Rawls' Veil of Ignorance you'd be happy about intentionally living in a burned-out land of violence and privation. If you were you wouldn't be in the relative comfort of the civilized West talking on the internet, you'd be in Syria or Somolia working out how to put food in your stomach and keep from dying.

Now I'm not going to make this a flame war but you actually fine pointed my earlier post. " you'd be in Syria or Somolia working out how to put food in your stomach and keep from dying. " They put themselves in that situation. Humans did that. When I speak about the Post Apocalypse I mean it being global, the system shatters and no one knows wtf is going on. As far as Civilized West goes I firmly believe there is no real thing as "civilized". Some of the shit I've seen in my 22-23 years alive on Earth (thanks to the net and some rather sick individuals) bore it into my head that we as humans are actually more savage than animals in the African wild lol and yes that post was a bit gratuitous, but that was the point. We are excessively violent by nature and we pour that violent nature into pretty much every facet we can. MLP being one, the furry fandom being another.
"We are clinically insane as a species" I can't remember where I heard that before but I'm pretty sure there was a second half of it.

We are, and ponies are not. That's what my point was, really. Ponies aren't humans and shouldn't act like it. They like cheerful celebrations, keep streets swept and have cute names for things.
Also, in the sense that "they did that to themselves" is blaming the victim. Just because humans did it to other humans is no reason to blame one group for something done to it. It's like holding back compassion (or even execrating someone) because a human abused or killed them. We still have laws and courts because we've determined they are better than not having them.
I'll come back in about 8 years or so to see what happened. Maybe you won't be so randomly violent or willing to dodge a point (yes, I noticed you dodged the accusation that it's hypocritical to ennoble postapocalyptic anarchy while being capable of going into such a place with relative ease. Why are you in the west rather than in a place with a civil war? The question stands.)

Alright, I'll be honest. I'd rather be there than here but I have no real way of getting there. I've always wanted to get into the Mercenary trade of life but I've never had the funds. The idea of laws is good and dandy until you have what it is today, oppressive, suffocating and corrupt. Its now used to control the masses instead of actually keeping them safe and guided. Anarchy isn't what I legitimately want but more along the lines of base freedom. I do what I want, you do what you want, you do me no wrong and I to you the same. When I said it was "their fault" (Syria) I was talking about "Them" as a whole. the government went south in the eyes of the ppl and ppl rose up and fought back. Instead of the government trying to fix the issues politically and rationally they instead attacked the rebels. Their fault entirely as they didn't rationalize the issues and come out with a stable, fair outcome. This is how most revolutions happen (To my education, but all forms of education is different) I'm not getting into a political debate as that is used and extremely tired, I'm not bashing you for your views as I see that youre a writer and you watch your content. But likewise, I stick by my views because I dislike the way the world operates as a whole, segregated, constant in-fighting, screwing others over for their own gain etc etc. Just take it all away and start all over again. Fallout is what gets closest to what I perceive as a ideal place. Or Equestria (Fair, happy, non-stressful) Even Pandora (Avatar) Free, unpolluted, no real laws. etc etc. But I digress. Is this the answer you were looking for?
Yes, absolutely. You were honest, articulated your points and clarified your position truthfully and with all the skill you have at your disposal. That's all I wanted.
We operate on different base levels and that's generally fine. We can agree on things similar to the way Matt Daillahunty does (Life is generally preferrable to Death, Health is generally prefferable to Sickness) and from these base statements can construct moral systems. I detect a thread of Anarcho-libertarianism; I'm a Social Democrat. I tend to favor regulations and the operation of law for the good of society as a whole, which is made of people. Governments are not a separate species, after all. They are human beings. I don't feel choked and stifled, but then, I'm soft, weak and need to be protected from others.
