Awwww, Patrick, you're such a big ball of happiness! Of all the characters from Wild Things, he's probably the one I'd love being friends with the most, with Drake coming close second. Also, his beard is the best beard.
Despite being deaf, he has always had a sunny and positive disposition, and after having been turned into a werewolf the emotions he feels - thanks to the bond between him and his alpha and packmates - has been greatly increased: not only his own, but also those he can sense coming from the other members of his pack. In a sense, he's a natural empathic.
The gesture he's making in the picture is the sign language gesture for "hello", by the way.
Five random facts about Patrick:
1) He's the second of five siblings: to be more precise, he has an older sister and three identical younger brothers.
2) He has a passion for marine animals, so much so that when he was a kid he asked to visit Monterey Bay Aquarium for three years in a row as a birthday present.
3) He still has a sea otter plush bought to him by his parents during one of said visits. Patrick calls it "Bilbo".
4) He loves reading. His favorite book of all times is "Dandelion Wine", by Ray Bradbury.
5) He's apparently a very good cook, but he doesn't like baking cakes for some reason.

Patrick is indeed one of the favorite characters of many people reading the story... Considering that he didn't even exist in the first draft, I'm really glad that he's so appreciated and loved! Chapter 10 is about him and his personality, so you'll see more about him, his past and how he sees the world around him.
