Yes, dried blood looks brown. Orcs in Warcraft use to have a mix of eye colours until demonic corruption made their eyes glow like this chaps:

After they were freed of it their eyes remained shades of brown or shades of red, and they still do 'glow' when they get truly angry. Gherrek's eyes are a dark red naturally, but in this pic his eyes are catching the light.
