*WARNING*
Not the least bit f'ing funny!
The Cold Ones
War had long besieged the city of Farview, but nothing had ever hit it like the blizzard had. With so many of it’s able bodied men and women abroad fighting off the invading hordes, there was little to help them as the snow continued to fall.
Only one in ten lived pass the winter, and of those none stayed. Most of those lost were the city’s children, who found themselves lost in the ever going cold.
To this day the snow still falls upon Farview, and while it still has the shortest pass through the mountains, few still dare to traverse it.
But those that have come and gone tell the tales of the Cold Ones. The spirits of those lost children, ever lost in the blizzard. At night as the travelers sit around their campfires they would see a faint blue form watching them, looking worn and dispirited in the cold.
Many are startled by the apparitions and haul out that night, but some welcome those spirits to their campfire. Tell them to have a seat and warm themselves. And though they are voiceless and without physical form those travelers will treat them as family. Chatting with them, sharing stories and telling them of themselves. As they grow welcome the color begins to return their faces and their frozen frowns melt into gentle smiles.
It is then believe that they ascend into the afterlife after having one last warm evening with unrelated family. Although many only need one last night, it’s been said others will linger for several days, or even weeks, moving from the mountains with the travelers to the lands below learning about the world that they were cut off from.
Legend has it Hunter Brisbane met a Cold One while lost in the mountains, and brought it down with him. He looked after her, and never stopped telling her stories or pointing out the wonders of the world to her. Hunter so cared for the girl that she lingered for sixty years, until the day he himself passed away so that she could go with him into the next life.

Arch rival and nemesis of Wonder Boy! With powers comperable to Wonder Boy!
Old Yeller is an old movie that's largely considered a classic. Basically,if you've heard of movies, someone should have mentioned Old Yeller at least once. Of course,it's taken for granted people have seen or heard of it.

Intriguing...
Do this kind of serious work more often. This is honestly one of the only things I've read in quite a while that wasn't horribly depressing to me. ( And coming from me, that REALLY says something.)
Despite the melancholy theme, you managed to instill a strong sense of an old-fashioned happy ending; A distinct and beautiful rarity in this day and age.
You appear to have a lot more to you than just what some of your artwork may lead one to think. You should be proud of that.
Please, PLEASE continue to grow as an artist, and to make pieces like this. I now have a good reason to look forward to more of your work.

wow, this is...really good.
I mean, no offense ( but you probably will take offense anyway and I am sorry) but I had you tagged as the guy that will 98% go for the obvious and/or elaborate cock/tit/sex joke/pun/malarkey.
I have been proven entirely wrong by this story and am glad of it.
