I wanted Drake to look like the proverbial fish out of water, since he's still new to the whole werewolf business, and I think that Tohdaryl gave him the perfect expression and posture!

And look at how furry he is! I think the beard makes him look a bit older and more mature; not that this is a bad thing, of course! The red thing tied over his right arm, well... Let's say there's a reason why it's there. You'll know in due time.




Five random facts about Drake:

1) He's absolutely tone-deaf. Never let him near a microphone if you don't want to have your eardrums melted.

2) He's left-handed.

3) He's a huge Top Gear fan (especially the UK version), so much so that he had dressed as the Stig for Halloween.

4) When I started writing the story, he was called Derek. That was before I realized that I already had a Derek in "Against the Horizon".

5) Before the beginning of the story, he had never traveled outside the country (or outside California, for what matters).
