Well, let's make my first submission of 2014 a good one! :D This was a digital painting commissioned for a German Shepherd fur (who's not on here, but who has appeared in my gallery before, here and here) as a Christmas present by his brother, who wanted to show that a little difference like that doesn't matter to someone who loves you for who you are. An idea I can get behind, since my immediate family and close friends all know about me being furry and totally accept it as just part of who I am, but I know not everyone is as fortunate - so here's hoping this attitude becomes more and more common!
This is the closest to photorealism I've ever got, and I'm quite satisfied with it, although of course my human-painting skills could still use some improvement X3

Very cool! Great work on the detail and shading - when I saw the thumbnail I thought it was a photo-manipulation to have a fur next to a real person. :)
And yes, would be awesome if things were that openly accepted one day. I wish I could open up to friends and family about it, but hell, I haven't even had the heart to mention I'm not Catholic anymore to them let along pansexual/asexual, and a fur. XD I think heads would explode. Depends a lot on the age and upbringing of the friends and family.

I was just wondering we were due for a few Sabretooth pieces. But this is majorly awesome! Lovely background, you're really getting better. Like Kacey got better some time ago, but in a different direction. The feeling is warm and fuzzy (ha ha) and commendable. Showing nicely what is important isn't on the surface, and accepting both surface and depth...
A most wonderful way to start the year!

Wau, this is pretty damn amazing! At first when I saw it in the overview list of newlysubmitted pics I thought it was a Kacey picture.
Both the characters and the background are extremely detailed. For a moment, I thought the background was a photo.
I've seen many morph drawings, but now I know how one would look if they are ever made IRL. This one goes to the Fav list!

I'm quite impressed with this. I'm a huge fan of photorealism and have a Carl Brenders and a Scott Kennedy print on my wall to back that up. The fur and the face of the GSD are exceptionally well done. Your background shows a lot of work too. Since I don't know the human in the picture I can't make any comparison but it looks really nice to me. Definite fav+
I'm an ordained deacon, and I haven't the heart to tell them I'm an atheist... people can love the idea of you when they don't know any better...
Then again, I know better than to even bring up the topic around family; they can't even conceive of how furries work. "Are you the guys who dress up and fuck dogs?" "...um, no, auntie, but my new roommate is and it was totally him I was talking about (crosses her off mental checklist)"

I feel sorry for anyone who does... I mean, what they don't know won't hurt'em. But I'ma *hug* you back, because really, you shouldn't have to keep secrets. Or come out of the kennel. I never got a chance to come out of the closet to them, so I have no practice with big revelations. "I got the hint when you were playing princess dress-up at age 3 and doing sassy showtunes at 6, the disappointment's long out of my system. Just keep the books away from your sister, don't bring a guy into my house and don't ever complain about my cooking again."
As long as you don't die in a fursuit and get on the nightly news or something... XD

I would swear this was a photo if his khaki's weren't your signature tan... ^u^ You detailed artists floor me.
But human skin is balls hard to paint digitally, because it has so many transparent layers of gray and pink and blue and yellow... I can get some pretty good results traditionally by overlaying many glazes, but IDK how you'd do that digitally, because of course the colors blend over each other on the monitor
