Goldie has an almost unhealthy obsession with Shugah. He (using that term lightly, Goldie has no sex and is neither boy nor girl I just hate saying IT) first saw Shugah when Shug was out shopping for the restaurant and just could not wait to walk up and proclaim undying love for him.

he said he had pretty eyes. All eight of them.

disturbed, Shugah didn't really say no to the declaration which gave Goldie hope that he felt the same way. This all ended with Shug stuttering something about getting home before dark and Goldie happily picking him up and carrying him there at a jaunty jog (golems are crazy strong).

Pepper thought that this was freaking hilarious and decided to keep Goldie around as official delivery person/ playmate for Shugah. shugah was less that thrilled (he's not too social) but it's not as if he doesn't LIKE Goldie, it's just that answering the door every morning to a chipper and hopeful "I love you!" gets old fast. His deadpan "thank you" response to this question has become a favorite joke among the morning patrons.

Goldie spends much of his time trying to find out Shugah's sexual preference so that he can become his desired sex (and they can be MARRIED when they grow up AWWWWWWWW) But Shug has about 0 interest in sex and rarely answers Goldie's not-so-subtle questions ("So do you like penises or vaginas or what?"). Still Goldie tries. The witch who made him told him to "live, love, and be happy" and he's determined that Shugah is very important to accomplishing those three things.
