Yeah, I think FA was down when I tried to submit this. Not that it matters, the only people who would care probably saw it at a meet already, hah.
If there's anyone that does care, this is the first step in a minute-and-a-half animation mega-project, a 2D, anime-style intro for my gaming show, the actual frame clocking in at a massive 2880x2160, putting it at four times the resolution of a 4:3 1080p frame. Yes, the whole animation is going to be that big. Yes, it is an intro like the anime you're thinking of right now.
The big, background font is modified Helvetica (fun game, watch the Cowboy Bebop intro and see how much Helvetica you can spot), the foreground font is TrueType'd Chicago with a distressed text effect made from a picture of wood chippings. And of course, semi-transparent white to fully transparent gradients for that light off a monitor effect, if a bit of a cheap one.
