This is vivid. I grew up visiting my grandparents in the summer, and my grandfather would take us out onto the sound in his boat. We always had to go home if we saw a storm coming. I've been on sailboats, but never sailing. It's always been something that draws me.

I'm glad you liked it. This is a rare case of inspiration which doesn't happen often. Most of my writing is technical or journalistic in nature. I sold my boat 4 years ago after owning it 27 years. I miss sailing but I don't miss boat ownership. I got quite good at racing (you can see some pics on my Deviantart page) but had to back off of it due to business travel. My Father-in-law to me out on a Sunfish in 1980 and I was hooked. Came home and bought a 19ft day sailor, then a 25ft Catalina a couple years later. But when a passion becomes a chore, it's time to move on.
