EDIT: This image is a statement mostly, not uh, trying to be all 'waaah feel bad for me' bull, I'm fine! It's part a grump about how selfish folks can be, and also doing this for a few people who were too well, afraid to make this statement. I'LL BITE DAT BULLET FER EM.
Little personal stupidity, since sometimes folks seem to think when you're patient, it means that you are a doormat.
It's been interesting dealing with various people, artists and such over the years, and I'd be a bit mean to say it hasn't worn away a chunk of my optimism towards the 'art community' as a whole being a polite, respectful and sharing place.
Bit naïve to think so, but, eh, it happens. We all make mistakes! Then learn from them.
This picture would relate to the 'Why can't you do everything for me constantly for free because of this n that reason and I am not even paying attention while I ramble what you must make me so hurry up and do it' people.
Or my personal issues with the few times I did commission people was an absolute disaster, except for...well, roughly 5 people.
Not going to name names of the good or bad because it'll cause a white knight shitstorm, or get me all banned n crap.
It was surprising to me which ones who claimed to be friends and wanted things, both inworld and out, who were preforming the equivalent of theft of my stuff/money. Live and learn.
Trades, man, got burned on a lot of those, then again, might explain my 'no no I rather not accept anything anymore' attitude.

Bit of a shout out to also answer anyone's idea of using folks as 'stepping stones' to get to somebody else they really wanted to be friends with...and only then to be 'friends' to get 'free art'.
Really, if it's just art they're after why ruin somebody's time, and life, just to discard them? I'm not too sure basing a friendship on a lie is a healthy thing, but it seems all to common for individuals to be so greedy as to do this with alarming frequency, throwing anyone on the sacrificial fire if it means they get a picture from an artist they want.
Pretty damn creepy behavior, and could go on and on about even more junk like this, but in the end, it's a waste of time, most likely.
Why ramble or write all this, perhaps it's just something else to ignore from a silly porn making troll dummy!

Honestly, this isn't just the state of the art community, this is the state of the world.
In a world where profit and debt reign supreme, the importance of life, joy, honesty, and true friendship is minimalized to the point of it being nearly non-existent. Meanwhile companies, TV shows, and the like romanticize shallow relationships, falling in and out of love at the tip of a hat, and other such nonsense. People are bludgeoned with stories, news, TV shows, internet entertainment, and other media that encourages them to just "play it safe" and work hard to get what you want while those in a lofty place of power keep just stepping on the "every man" doing the exact opposite of the things the media they support preach in order to retain their own power.
In a world where those things are true, in this world, it only makes sense that people would catch on eventually and realize that the only way to even get near the top is to use the people around them then crush and climb on the backs of the corpses of the relationships they ruined. Because there's over 7 billion people in the world today. They no doubt figure "I may have burned 6 billion other bridge, but there's still a billion more to support me."
This kind of thinking is the result of one thing - greed. From the moment we are born we are in debt.. and the normal person continues to be such well past the point they die. They are always owing someone something. Always trying to wiggle out from under someone's thumb. It's unfortunate.. no just outright wrong that the world is this way.. that people find this to be the only real way to get to the top echelon of society.. that it's the only way they can get the resources to actually live a -good- life out from other the thumb of some horrible wicked institution or person.
Until that is fixed.. some people will always view others as stepping stones. Some people will always do whatever it takes to not have their fate hanging by a precarious thread. If you work for someone.. you are expendable. It matters not what you do, your position, etc. If things get bad enough.. better believe the person you work for will can you before they let themselves sink. If you owe someone.. they own you and all you call yours. This is not a way to live.. not a way any sentient being should live.
There's only one real way up right now. You can do one of three things, in such - you can try to build a new way up and destroy the way things currently are, you can climb on the backs of others all the way to the top, or you can be a stepping stone. It's not fair, not okay, yet right now that's just how things are.
I'm sorry, Flea. You may not know me, I may owe you nothing, yet still. I am sorry that you seem to have been betrayed by those you trusted. Seem to have lost friends due to their own greed or avarice. Truly. No one should have to suffer such things.

Oh, heyhey, not really upset about this, it was actually, to be blunt, a statement for a few friends who are less able to word it, aswell as the whole 'Flea go take a gunshot wound for us' haha, BUT YES, it's ridiculous the state things have become as an average. I'm only honestly cranky at times when the folks who actively gave me issues/robbed me hoogle about and seem unperturbed by what they've done.

I'm glad you're not truly upset. The words in your description seemed to belie the frustration and anger you felt towards the people you were referring to. You do honestly seem like a very flappable and friendly sort, which is no doubt part of your allure to both the good and bad sorts.

We try our best to be good, though doesn't make us always nice! I'm just as much a jerkass as anyone, but usually yell at folks for their own good! But my own only beef is the whole 'hey you paid me, thanks for the free money, lololololol' some folks did to myself personally, heh.

That's all we can really do is try our best, I suppose. Yet that whole being scammed out of money for art thing seems a lot like a pirate-cashoo thing. Of course I guess there's quite a few artists doing that for whatever reason, unfortunately.
Personally I've always felt that if someone agrees to do something they should do it how it was agreed to be done and only expect payment -after- it is done. Yet it's hard to be safe with that when it comes to online transactions, I suppose. :\ Especially with direct commissions and the like for more prony things as such things aren't covered by most of the payment processors that many use.
Yet I digress, I look forward to enjoying a ton more of your awesome art, random doodle, and both great and horrible jokes. :)

Anyways, the energy someone can invest simply to screw other peoples over in order to get free stuff is amazing. Proud to say that the only two comissions i have in my gallery where fairly paid for despite me being friends with the artist.

Yeah, it seems absurd if they just spent half the time they spent trying to screw somebody over at A.) drawing and thus through practice, getting better (cuz that's all it is, a fuckton of practice.) or B.) doing work to get money to pay said artist, they'd be getting what they want a lot faster then the whole weirdness they go through.
What i find alarming is how completly willing these people are at dismissing others existance. I mean for their plan to work they must "befriend" you.. get to know you as a person and invest all this time... just to throw you away like garbage as soon as they achieved what they had in mind from the very beginning.
Thats not only mean but really cruel come to think of it and i can understand why some artists on FA have become really really seclusive and push people away if this problem occurs to often.

I know your a busy person and I loved your works since almost 2 years ago when I started being here with my crappy at the time MS Paint works. I really don't blame you on not giving free artwork I'm needing to pay my internet bill and most people wont give a shit "unless it's free". I think most people don't get it I have a very low income, I am considered disabled for autism and major anger issues I CANNOT WORK. If I get irritated at work and throw a pissy fit I honestly cannot control I'd be fired quickly or go to jail for beating an asshole who is calling me retard in example. I AM NOT LAZY I try to give passion to my works but no one "likes the style" that shit pisses me off the most while most of this furry site has alot of cartooning involved and I am cartooning my ass off.

If it were not for assholes being loud and memorable... the world would not have fart jokes.
There's a ton of quiet folks. A fair number of nice ones. A small pile of really loud losers. We evolved to pay a lot of attention to the last group, because our ancestors were the ones who at least got past breeding age before getting hit over the head with something. So they get magnified. Like a proctologist's camera-hose, our memory just gets firmly in there. Probably in hopes we'll avoid that type in future.
