They bite, so this is the best pic I can get of them: Through bars. *blah* The darker of the two is hte one who laid the eggs.

They're both of a "mutation" known as the Pearl Cockatiel. Those spots on their feathers? Those are known as "pearls" And seeing as they both still have their pearls, they're females (but you already know they're both females from another pic you had of the eggs right?) (-Males molt their pearls out and turn out to look like a regular gray and Females keep the pearls) I may be a little biased, but I think pearls are absolutely gorgeous! (I have a pearl lol)
Concerned: Well... 1) Their cage, is just really small. Too small for one cockatiel as it is. It looks like it would be best suited for A canary or A budgie. 2) Do they get out of the cage for play-time? 3) It doesn't seem like there are enough toys in the cage. Birds in captivity need a lot of stimulation and things to keep them occupied. 4) I see what looks like 3 cups full of seed? Is there a water cup somewhere that gets changed regularly? 5) Where is the cage placed? It looks kind of odd, like a work space or something...
Also, how often do they lay eggs? Do you leave the eggs inside or take them out?
*shrug* I'm not trying to be rude or anything. You asked what my concerns were and I'm just letting you know. If you have any further questions you can ask at any time through a note or here etc. ^_^ I love cockatiels and recognized the distinctive pearl cockatiel look in the thumbnail I had to click it and see these pretty little things closer! <3

Oohhhh. I see. That's kewl ^.^ I know nothing of birds, so, yeah, lol. But that's really interesting *noddles*.
As for the cage, I knowit's too small. So does mum, but we can't afford a bigger cage. The guy who gave them to us saidhe'd help us get a bigger cage, but... nothing as of yet. And because they bite and freak out when we go near them, they don't get out at all... Theres one toy and one treat, butonce we get a bigger cage, we'll be able to get more toys. Theres two cups of seed, and one water. They fight over one cup, so we had to add the other, lol. And it's placed on the fireplace for lack of anywhere else to put the messy things. The window sill thing istoo drafty for them... or so I'm told.

^_^ Yeah I'm a bit of a bird nut sometimes. haha
Yeah, I understand the need for money for a bigger cage. Did you ever consider getting a second cage though? You could find one the same size as that (even though it is small) and separate the birds into two cages side by side. It would be a temporary thing until you got a bigger cage. Also, if you separated them it would be easier to tame them as well. It would take a while to do so, but it can be done!
I have a standard gray female who was in a small cage stuffed with other cockatiels. She was picked on and was very stressed. When she was brought to me, she managed to bite me several times. But you have to be patient and calm. Its taken me 2 years, but I can finally take her out of the cage without a big fuss. Even though she's a little nervous away from her "space" she has learned to trust. Also, she had been so stressed she was mutilating herself and had absolutely no tail feathers. Again after about 2 years of careful handling and learning to trust, she's grown her tail out!
Yeah, by the window is too drafty. I hope you don't make a fire with those little things there! XD that would be bad too! lol But I'm sure you guys don't use the fireplace with them there!

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll ask my mom about it. Since they are her birds. Is there something to make them less messy??? lol. More of their food ends up outide the cage then in.
How do you tame a bird?? *blinks* Lol, maybe we should move this conversation to notes. lol.
No, no fires. And what do we do with the eggs? I mean, are they okay there? or...*blinks*
