Magnetic sensors man, only a few use weight sensors. It's the high amount of magnetic metals that lift a sensor under the pavement. Not by much, but enough.

Which brings up a neat trick: fasten a strong magnet or two underneath the motorcycle to give it a stronger 'signature' and trip the sensors like a car would.

Exactly, like a 10 dollar investment to solve 10 hours of idling.

Yea, just go to radio shack if you haven't already and get some rare metal magnets. Stick them on the bottom of the bike and you're good. But if you want them to be extra secure, try to stick them in a small plastic case like a toothbrush holder and fasten it on with zip ties somewhere. I fastened one to my uncle's bike two years ago so he stops showing up an hour late to anything when he's on his ninja.

I have driven a CAR that for some reason would not reliably set off magnetic sensors.

Was it high off the ground? Or maybe it didn't have enough metal down there?

I always thought it was just a pre-programed to change at certain intervals.
But of course, maybe it's Dependant on where you live.
Where I live, the hitting the crossing button does nothing to hasten your crossing.

Are the roads traffic heavy or usually empty when you often use the crosswalk? I am asking because I know two reasons why that could be.

I guess they are moderately used; it's a street that directly branches off from the interstate.

odds are those buttons are only set to a switch that turns the walking light on at the next pass then. It happens.

It's okay, motorcycle helmets are not sealed off from the outside, however, they only really fog when it's cold outside.

I know, I used to ride even when it was 17F. The windchill at 70mph on the highway is pretty nasty. =P

Well, this was very recent. Happened last weeked, as a matter of fact.

I was at my uncle's farm in New South Wales for a few days, either just hanging out at the house or helping with the animals. And so, one day, he let's me ride his BMX around this plot of land.

So, I'm kinda off along this trail, feeling confident, and I begin to notice that this electric fence to my right side is.. Coming in a bit too close. So I panic and slam the brake, and at the same time put the motorbike into full thrust. I crash into the fence, it tips over, and I rolled over the fence into a paddock full of very confused goats. I wasn't hurt, except when I tried to get back over. That is when I figured out the fence was electric.

So don't trust me with anything with two wheels <:3

Well I'm glad you're okay!! Haha

I feel more sorry for my uncle, though.
He spent the rest of the day repairing that same fence ;3;

do you wait the whole time for the light to turn green before turning? Because normally after around 5-10 minutes you can treat the red light as a stop sign.

It just so happens, the downside to my protectors despite being the most affordable was the fog from the heat of the location combined with my tense breathing. Lets just say, the term 'blind-shooting' became literal that day. XP

I know this feel all too well. Never mind the fog. It's the burp stink that gets you. Also, my visor as an insert that prevents fogging... but it got all scratched so I took it out.
Just open your visor!
Some states have laws about motorcycles, etc, at lights. Something like... if you wait more than a certain amount of time, you can go through if the traffic is clear since it won't pick up your bike. Not enough metal for the sensor. Something. Laws.

I usually just end up taking a right turn and looping around if it gets excessive ;w;

BTDT, had to ride with the visor open until things cleared...

It is a bit! Paintball masks in my experience seem to be fairly well vented. The motorcycle ones only really cycle air through them if you're moving pretty fast
