Oh lawd, not like FLCL! Not at all! *chuckles*
They can only come out of her when she is asleep, and they basically leave her body through her... orifices (ears, nostrils, pours, mouth, etc) in the form of extremely thin, black smoke and gradually turn into something more tangible once they are out. They leave behind a lot of dark, charcoal-like stuff.
The next morning she is covered in the stuff; what can be best described as black ashes, all over herself and the bed etc.
