Shortly after I went away from FA, I lost Anna. She fought brilliantly to the end, but I had to put her to sleep. She was one of the best rats I have ever owned, and it destroyed me to lose her.

But around my last birthday, I met this rat, who I later named Samus. She was a snake food rat, and I was just playing around with them in the tank, because that's what I do when I go to pet stores, I'm very "try me!" with the merchandise. xD I had no intention of buying anyone - but this rat was just special. Friendly, social, funny, and fearless, she was very different from the usual "food" rats. Usually they have zero human attention/interaction, so they are not as well adjusted, and it takes me a while to gain their trust. But by her nature, Sammie was just ready to be a pet from day 1.

So, although I knew my boyfriend would kill me, Samus came home with me that day, and I'm very happy she did. ...and so is my boyfriend. This rat, and her cagemate who you will meet soon, are probably the only rats he's ever bonded with on this level. It's very cute! He absolutely loves them.

Well, Samus is now fully grown, but she still has this cute baby face! She's a great rat, and I love her.
