Lif Fenrirson (My wolf fursona)
Some years ago I discovered, that my native Indian totem spirit is the wolf, who stands for imagination, inspiration, adventure, and friendship and I made a test on the internet, how I would look like if I would be a wolf. The result was: I am a white wolf with blue eyes... and here I am now.
Lif does have a wide spread background story:
His father was the Fenris-Wolf, the son of the god Loki. Fenris was tied up by the gods to prevent him from hunting the mortal humans. But no chain was strong enough to bind him, so the dwarfs and black alfs weaved a magic rope: Gleipnir. The ingridients were: The noise of a cat´s footstep, the voice of a fish, the drool of a bird, the beard of an old woman and the roots of a mountain. With this, Fenris was bound.
But the gods betrayed Fenris. They told him, that he will get great honor, if he can break free from this rope... and they said, Fenris can break free, but this was a lie. The god of war, Tyr, layed his hand in Fenris` mouth to proove that they told the truth. At them moment Fenris was tied up, he struggled but wasn´t able to break free. He vored Tyr´s hand, but this was the only thing he was able to do. He had to wait in his bondage until the end of world, Ragnarok. Then the rope crumbles apart. Fenris was free and took revenge on Odin. He vored him, but was struck down by Thor´s hammer.
After the old world ended and the new world had awaken, Fenris came back to life, but without his memory. He fell in love with a human girl and they gave birth to Lif.
Lif is imortal, but he has a mortal body, he can be killed. But his fathers curse layed on him. He is not able to lie, he can feel it if somebody lies. And...^^ of course, he is not a child of luck and gets tied up and captured very often.
Now in the 21st century, he works for the police, because of his sense for the truth. To hide his true appearance, he carries a holographic generator in his pocket to give himself a human body. But after two hours, his little machine goes out of energy and be loaded again. That leads to many strange and funny situations.
Lif heared about a rumor, that he could have a sister and so he tries to find her.
Weird, isn´t it?^^

I thought you would be interested. Yes, the story of Fenris is the most popular bondage tale in the old nord mythology. A homeplay for you. And Loki too has to suffer bondage until Ragnarok.
After he forced the blind god Hödr to kill Odins son Baldur with a poisoned arrow and after he dishonored the gods in Ögir´s (sea god) palace where a grat fiest was rising, the gods hunted him and caught him with a web. They chained him to a rock with the muscles of his first two children to restrain him. A poisonous snake spittet its drool on his face. His skin was burned away, bud his wife Sigin had mercy with him and used her bare hands to catch the poison. This was so painful for Loki to see, that he shouted out so loud, that volcanos on earth errupted. So the Germans said: "Loki is raging again." when they saw a volcano explode.
And Lif and his sister Lifthrasil are also part of the myth. They are the only one of the mortals who survided Ragnarok and gave birth to the new mankind on the new earth. (You can say. They are the norse Adam and Eve^^)
Boah! Am I babbling arround. But I like those stories...^^

thank you very much.
I wrote Lif´s background story into the concept of German mythology, because it is one of my favorite myths.
And it is awesome how often bondage was used in such stories.
the tied up wolf Fenris is the most popular one
but also his father Loki was tied up as a punishment, maybe I will draw a pic with him in the future
also in the Niebelungen story bondage was used (the story with Siegfried who bathed in the blood of a slayed dragon and became invincible)
Ops I am babbling again
