You are not an anime character when your clothes aren't immortal. Ever notice that in mangas and shows? No matter how beat up somebody gets, their clothes never shred or burn; and if they do, they're always back to normal by the next scene.

Poor Eliot's gotta change his outfit just about every time he gets in a fight. Bad enough when people are attacking him, but his own powers put holes in everything he wears when he uses them.
