The GAU-8 "Avenger" cannon is a 6 barrel 20mm vulcan gun. 3400 rpm and they fire the monster depleted uranium tank killer rounds. Normaly that mo'fucker is mated to the CENTRAL AIRFRAME of an A-10 tank hunter, the anti-fighter/missile CWIS on US Carriers and they make fantastic AAA guns, too.
Mechwarrior? Ha ha ha ha ha....no, the Avenger is a bit small for that. Most IS/Clan Auto-cannon's are 125mm/165mm bore....MUCH larger than the GAU :3
