It was the weekend and it was HOT. Stacey had set apart this day from her busy workload to get some fresh air and experience nature. You see, Stacey spent most of her time working day after day in a cramped office, so any excuse to get out and stretch her legs was great excuse. While visiting her favorite lunch spot, she overheard a couple talking about this hiking trail that nobody went on. Feeling adventurous, Stacey decided on conquering this path.
After a couple hours, the heat was wearing on Stacey. Her pink top was beginning to dampen from her sweat. Her skin itched like mad but determined to have a good day out, she continued down the path. Stacey stopped momentarily to survey her course when she noticed something odd in the dirt behind her. Crouching, she inspected a small furry pile and her heart skipped a beat. Human hair. Her eyes, wild with concern, darted over the rocky hills. A trembling hand reached up to her head and felt a spot missing. Gasping, Stacey pulled back her hands to find some hair came with them. Almost immediately, an immense pressure fell over her. She wobbled on her legs as she felt them go numb. Stacey cried out and began crawling back the way she came; uncertain as to what was happening to her. Her torso began to lengthen as dark and light tan scales began to slowly replace her hair. The cool scales swarmed over her pink skin as her unresponsive legs flailed helplessly behind her. Stacey groaned as her face begin to push out; a short snout began to replace her once human face. What remained of her brown hair began to disappear back into her skull as her smooth skin lost surface to the alien scales dominating the rest of her body. Before long, her arms began to feel the same as her legs. Stacey flopped onto her back and looked down at her body. Her scaly back wiggled across the warm desert floor as she finally got a glimpse of her feet. Her legs had fused right down the center and at their end: a large rattle-like appendage. Even if she could grasp how exactly she was turning into a snake, she wouldn't be able to do anything. She hissed and cried out more as her arms began to cover in scales as they shrank back into her long body. The world around the once-human girl began to grow as her clothes began to overtake her small form. She hissed and rattled her new tail as her eyes shifted and a new set of instincts began to replace her useless human ones. A few moments later, all that remained was a snake. A content, new rattlesnake in its natural habitat. Stacey had chosen this path to get away from it all; little did she know that her little trip would have such big consequences.
