SO...yeah...just an example of how the program I have BUTCHERS the sound of the songs I make...

I suggest this: http://coolsoft.altervista.org/en/virtualmidisynth
It adds a software MIDI that supports soundfonts, and it's great to use on older programs that used MIDI music, especially ones on DOS and SCUMM VM. (SCUMM VM has it's own built in though, but I still highly recommend it!)
