I've had this "phase" for over 4yrs in school... The only way someone showed me that I should stop is by saying this:
"There is only one way I can be friends with a selfdestructive person, and u know how?" "No?!" "Well... not"
It was my best friend at the time, and since that day I've only did it once, which is now over 3years ago :)

I've never cut myself, I wanted to do it once ( a long time ago ) but I didn't do it
I've met people who did it and I comforted them the best way I could
so I guess I was the one who put the band-aids over their scars
