Since rendering my version of
Kheylev (in the form of an "EFF Limerick") last year (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/10287694/), I'd decided to draw the corpulent cameltaur again in another 'fat furry/water inflation' comic strip gag.
This time, the inspiration came from recalling another water-logged dromedary I used to see in the 'funny pages'; namely, 'Quench' the camel from the long-running daily comic strip "Crock" (created by Brant Parker, Bill Rechin, and Don Wilder) - which, regrettably, ended its syndicated run on May 20, 2012, and is now in reruns until 2015. You can currently see said reruns at www.seattlepi.com/comics-and-games/fun/Crock
"Crock" parodies the French Foreign Legion (featured in films like "Beau Geste"), and has a few animal characters in it, with 'Quench' being the most prominent one - mainly for being bloated, whenever he consumes massive amount of water...
So, it comes as no surprise when 'Kheylev' and 'Quench' compete for desert domination of the well with the fort's water supply. Of course, the former dromedary has the advantage of possessing two stomachs! Who'll win? Who knows? Who cares!
