Indeed! I think minimalism can be used to great effect, stripping a picture to it's essentials. It gives the viewer an idea and their imagination fills in the rest :) Some for example might see birds in the water, others rocks. You can imply a lot with a few lines or splotches of color.
On the other hand, there's nothing wrong with putting in a lot of detail either. It just depends on what you want to go for at the time, while practice in particular might call for less. I'd certainly like to see more works from you.
